Our organic round brinjals (Baingan or Badnekai) are sourced from certified organic farms, grown following organic farming methods. These round brinjals are free from chemicals used in conventional farming, thus safe for health and environment. We are always trying to ensure that the round brinjals reach our stores, within 24 hours of harvesting.
Studies show that commercially cultivated brinjals may contain residues of chemical pesticides such as chlorantraniliprole, diafenthiuron, thiamethoxam propargite, spiromesifen and cypermethrin that may be sprayed on them during cultivation. Studies have shown that these chemicals may lead to health issues like shortness of breath, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, and severe harm to nervous system and immune system. Studies have also shown the toxicity of spiromesifen on aquatic life.
Appearance: Organic round brinjals are dark purple coloured, oval or teardrop shaped, small to medium sized and contain a pale white flesh with tiny white seeds embedded. They have mild sweet and nutty flavour, sometimes a little tart. These brinjals are 100% organically grown, without using any artificial methods of farming.
